Push Coasts Illustrated

Welcome to the illustrated online version of Push Coasts.

The four sections of the book are: Home Shores, New Coasts, Back and Gone, and Home in the World.

The sections represent a journey from a place of origin dealing with universal themes of conflict including prejudice and violence, to a place of experimentation, to a return to the home shore where both person and place are changed, to an orthogonal departure representing a break from the here-or-there, in-or-out, home-or-foreign dichotomy—and a sense of ownership of self and broad belonging.

Each of the sections link to collection of poems illustrated by my later American paintings. An ebook version can be found here and print version here.
